Dear Shooters:
Attached is the Match Report for the BORCC June IDPA Match.
There were 32 registered shooters with five demented individuals shooting a
second firearm bring the grant total to 37. The division breakdown was SS 23
shooters, CD & ES 5 each, revolvers (SR, ER, 5 Shot) had 3 shooters and one
competitor who I did not know what gun they were shooting and has been labeled
Unknown Division.
The lowest time in SS and overall match time was Dan Gipe.
The biggest surprise to everyone; including myself; was the second place overall
time. That would be me. I did not have a particularly good match. Everyone else
had a bad match. There was something about the plate rack in Stage 1 that seemed
to eat people. Randy Ciesiolka was the top shooter in CD. Tom Schwenk took first
and last in the Revolver Division. For his second firearm he selected a 2” five
shot revolver. I don’t own enough speed loaders to have shot two of the stages
with my 2” revolver. The recorded top shooter in ES was Brian Harsanyi shooting
a ported firearm which disqualifies him from formal placement in the match.
Therefore, Jim Roland is officially the top shooter in ES. Don’t feel slighted
about this Brian. What you need to feel slighted about is an old, fat, blind,
bald guy shooting a stock Glock 45 auto using a police duty high retention
holster and snap down flap ammo carriers out shot you. Team Geriatric strikes
again.
The July match is never scheduled as it falls on the Fourth
of July weekend. There will be a July all revolver match the weekend of July 18
& 19. A minimum of two new revolvers from the Smith & Wesson custom shop will be
awarded at the match. The guns are not awarded by match performance but by
random drawings of the competitors in attendance. At previous ICORE matches, gun
winners were new shooters attending their first ever match. Besides the guns
there is a well stocked prize table allowing everyone at the event to go home
with a prize.
The next scheduled IDPA match will be the 1st
Sunday in August on the 2nd. It will be the annual BUG match with all
courses of fire five shot neutral. The entire match is designed to be shot with
a 2” five shot revolver. Tom Schwenk, bring your small gun in August.
